Big woodland dogs walk looking over Ashby de la Zouch, Ingles Hill Woods is a 24ha site planted in 2002 and 2003/4 as part of the National Forest planting scheme. There are a couple of ways to enter this dog walk the safest way is off the A511 on the west bound side, where there is a large lay-by to park in. The bypass is a very busy road, when going between car and sty please make sure you have your dog under full control to avoid any accidents.

Once parked up, the walk is accessed via the sties which is situated to the left of the entrance of the lay-by. The boarders of the area is fenced with post and rail fencing and all round the planted woodlands with chicken wire fencing, which makes this dog walk a good option. The area is broken up in to several smaller compounds all divided by fences, and accessed via sties. On our dog walk we did walk round the woods off the lead once away from the busy dual carriage way. The walk is secure but nothing is 100% dog proof so always keep your dog under control.

The area has been planted with a mix of broadleaves and conifers to provide all year round, attraction for insects, birds and mammals, there are also open areas which have been managed as a hay meadow. To encourage even more nature in to Ingles Hill Wood there have been bat boxes put up on some of the more mature existing trees. The willows have been pollarded down by the stream, trimmed to promote a dense head of foliage and branches. Neighbouring sites like Annwell Wood and Marsh Wood are also worth exploring. There are no litter or poo bins on this site so please pick up and take it home, leaving this beautiful countryside beautiful and safe for others to enjoy.
